We’re incredibly proud to share that Runspire has been featured in a recent article titled “Safety in numbers: How women runners are finding strength after dark.” A huge thank you to Olivia Clark for sending it over and for shining a light on such an important and timely conversation.
The article explores how women are reclaiming confidence when running in the darker months, highlighting the role that supportive, welcoming running groups play in helping people feel safer, stronger, and more empowered. Being part of this discussion means a great deal to us, because it reflects exactly why Runspire exists.
More than running, it’s about confidence and connection
For many people, especially women, running alone after dark can feel daunting. Concerns around personal safety, confidence, and visibility are very real barriers that stop people from being active. At Runspire, we believe no one should feel excluded from exercising outdoors because of fear.
Our group runs and walks are built around community, inclusivity, and encouragement. Turning up together, supporting one another, and sharing the experience makes a huge difference. It’s not just about the miles covered, it’s about knowing you’re not on your own.

Why being featured matters to us
To see Runspire included in a wider conversation about safety, strength, and community reinforces the impact of what our groups do every week. We see first-hand how people grow in confidence, build friendships, and begin to feel more comfortable being active in their local areas even after dark.
This article highlights something we’ve always believed: when people come together, they feel stronger, safer, and more confident.
