We are beyond excited to announce that Runspire Nottingham has been awarded an amazing £17,360 from The National Lottery Community Fund! This vital funding will help us continue our mission to support the Nottingham community through running, walking, and wellness activities. A massive thank you to National Lottery players – your contributions are truly life-changing!

Transforming Lives Through Movement

Since 2022, Runspire Nottingham has been empowering people to take up running, walking, and Nordic walking to improve their physical and mental health. Founded by Paul Hopkins, the group was created to offer a welcoming and inclusive space for everyone in the community—no matter their fitness level or background. What began as a single session in Bulwell has grown into a city-wide initiative, with sessions now running in Strelley, Bulwell, St. Ann’s, and Hyson Green, and plans to expand even further!

This funding will allow us to make an even bigger impact by offering more sessions, reaching new locations, and training more dedicated volunteers. Our vision is simple: to help people break through the physical and mental barriers they face and improve their overall well-being.

National Lottery Funding: A Game-Changer for Our Community

The generous support from The National Lottery Community Fund will enable us to bring our vision to life and create even more opportunities for the Nottingham community to get active, stay fit, and feel mentally empowered. Every week, National Lottery players raise over £30 million for good causes across the UK, and we're honored to be one of the projects benefiting from this.

Last year alone, over £686 million was awarded to community initiatives like ours, supporting more than 13,700 projects. With this funding, we'll be able to offer more sessions, increase our presence in the community, and reach even more people who need that extra push to start their fitness journey.

What This Means for Us

With this newfound support, we’ll be:

• Increasing the number of running, walking, and Nordic walking sessions to reach more people than ever before.

• Opening new locations across Nottingham, expanding our reach and giving more communities the chance to join us.

• Training more volunteers, ensuring that we have the resources and support to continue inspiring and motivating people to take control of their health.
